If you don’t know, I have a pet rat named Jones, and he died on Saturday. I miss him a lot, and I bet, if you knew him, you would too.
Jones was great, because he was always at my side, even if he was sick or hurt. He was a great friend, and I would tell him secrets. He wouldn’t tell them. He loved eating anything, especially noodles, even though he wasn’t exactly suppose to eat noodles. He loved them. He also loved to eat fruit like plums and apples.
Jones also played a big role in one of my winning science fair projects. He went in a maze as a project to see if rats would do better in the dark or in the light. Jones did better in the light, as my hypothesis suggested.
My heart hurt when I had to say goodbye to Jones for the last time. If you have a pet, you probably can imagine how it feels to give one up. I miss Jones and hope I can get another rat, even though no rat will ever replace him.
Goodbye, Jones. I love you.
